Freedom never tasted sooooo good! My final exams are finally OVER :) After slaving for weeks with my nose buried in notes and books, it's utterly refreshing to be able to do whatever I want again. I celebrated my long-missed freedom by going shopping (I know, typical right??). The shopping trip was further made perfect with the movie Prometheus.
My interest of this movie was piqued when I knew that it actually shows the origins of the aliens in the famous Alien movies. PLUS, Michael Fassbender is acting in this movie. I first knew him through X-Men First Class where he played Magneto.
I personally think that he looks better as Magneto. He is blonde in Prometheus.
Doesn't really suit him, no? He looks better with dark hair. Not that I'm crazy about this dude, I'm loyal to my Chris Hemsworth! My sister, however, calls Michael her hubs!
Okay, so Prometheus is about a team of explorers who journey to another planet to discover the origins of mankind. But their initial euphoria of finding life there turns to horror when they find out that there's a plan to wipe out the human race. You get to see the typical gruesomeness of humans being attacked and killed by the aliens. I jumped and flinched several times during the movie. So do prepare yourselves for some shocks and gory scenes if you watch it.
The movie was nice. Interesting even. You should all the more watch it if
you're a fan of the Alien movies. You get to see how the disgusting and
creepy aliens came into being.
But there were quite a few holes that remained unexplained in the movie which left me confused. For example, it is not clarified why the humanoid aliens, who supposedly created mankind, wanted to destroy the human race. I was a tad disappointed as I really wanted to know why.
On the whole, Prometheus is fine. It is worth watching :)
On a more random note, I discovered a Korean makeup store called Holika Holika in the shopping mall.
I must say that I was absolutely mesmerized by the creativity of the makeup packaging. The quality of the makeup seems fab as well. Too bad I was too broke to get anything :( :( :( Oh well...there's always next time...

Three Idiots movie
Bollywood films are part of my childhood. I remember sitting in front of the TV for for three hours, absorbing the Hindi dance, songs and of course the dramatic-ness of it. My favourite so far was Koi...Mil Gaya, a Bollywood version of ET.
But that movie was immediately shoved to second place when I watched the 2009 Three Idiots movie recently.
There's only one adjective that can sufficiently describe this movie: AWESOME! It is one of those movies that are filled with positive messages. It is hilarious, heart-warming and touching at the same time. One minute you're laughing your head off, the next you're grabbing tissues and ferociously wiping off your tears.
This movie tells the story of Rancho, Farhan and Raju, three engineering students who share a room in the Imperial College of Engineering.
Rancho, played by Aamir Kahn, is the lead actor. His character is absolutely delightful in a sense that he is always optimistic. I particularly love his favourite quote "Aal izz well" (all is well). In fact, the essence of the movie is about how Rancho greatly influenced his two other not-so-positive friends, Farhan and Raju.
The message of the movie is really true: we should always be optimistic and look at the bright side of life.
No Bollywood movie is complete without a pretty female character. In this case, it is Kareena Kapoor who plays Pia, Rancho's love interest.
Of course, you have the crazy characters as well. There's the annoying know-it-all Chatur, also known as Silencer, who lets out the most horrific and smelly farts. The fact that the words "GAS CHAMBER" are sprayed on his room door says it all. Yeah, that's how bad his farts are!
And you also have the no-nonsense and unforgiving college dean Professor Viru, whom the students nicknamed Virus. He is a real meanie who is the cause of the sufferings of many students.
This movie also addresses some serious issues such as suicide. It also touches on how some students are forced to follow their parents' dreams for them instead of their own. The movie effectively highlights and promotes awareness on these issues.
To add to the praises of this movie, it won six Filmfare Awards, including best film and best director, ten Star Screen Awards and sixteen IIFA Awards. Did I mention that I love the soundtracks as well?
All in all, Three Idiots is splendid. It is a wonderful blend of comedy and heavier issues. Definitely worth watching :)

The Hobbit ♥
The Hobbit movie is coming out *cue hysterical scream* I'm a Lord of the Rings fanatic, a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien. So I guess you can see why I'm hyperventilating now :) This movie is directed by the great Peter Jackson who directed the other LOTR movies. He knows the LOTR concept better than anyone else!
Martin Freeman plays the role of Bilbo Baggins while Richard Armitage plays Thorin Oakenshield. Other familiar LOTR actors who reprise their roles include Ian McKellan, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving.
The soundtrack alone gave me goosebumps! So nostalgic... I have already read the book and I must say that it is awesome. Can't wait for the movie!

Chris Hemsworth Mania
I can't wait for the Avengers movie. Here's my reason:
Chris Hemsworth is smoking hawt! He makes a great Thor, no? I think he looks even hotter with longer hair. Look at his adorable smile! *nose bleeds*

Harry Potter Premiere
Emma Watson simply dazzled at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Yes, the Harry Potter saga has finally come to an end. Personally, I prefer the books over the movies. But hey, it is always nice to see the characters come alive in movies.
There is no doubt that Emma has blossomed over the span of the movies. She is now a fantabulous actress as well as fashionista. Acting wise, I think that Emma is the best out of the three Harry Potter stars. She comes off as more natural as compared to the other two.
Emma wore a gorgeous £8,000 Oscar de la Renta ice-blue gown which left my jaw hanging in awe. The beaded bodice and tulle skirt enhanced the uniqueness of this gown. They also made it absolutely fairy-tale like. Details matter, people!
She wore a crisp white Antonio Berardi crepe jacket with her gown. Smashing combination I must say ♥♥♥
And once again, this gal managed to look stunning. Her makeup was subtle but it brought forth the force of her natural beauty. Emma can never get it wrong when it comes to light but beautiful makeup!
For the Harry Potter premiere after party, Emma wore an champagne colored Elie Saab dress. Need I say more? I really love the intricate details on her delicate dress. Its design maybe simple but these elaborated details made all the difference. It made the dress F-A-B! The sheer parts also gave the dress a tint of sexiness. A mixture of sweet and sexy is lethal!
Here are what the other Harry Potter actresses wore:
Clemence and Evanna's dresses are adorable. They project the actresses' vibrant youthfulness. I'm not too sure about Bonnie's choice of dress though. I feel that it makes her look matronly, no?

Celebrity Disney Dream Photos
Ah, Disney films. They never fail to bring back wonderful memories of my childhood. I remember watching The Little Mermaid repeatedly and marvelling at how the chef could defy gravity in his wild attempts of catching Sebastian. I loved Beauty and the Beast as well.
Anyways, back to the topic. I was absolutely enthralled by the celebrity Disney photographs taken by Annie Leibovitz. These photos captured the wondrous feel of the Disney characters.
Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella
Olivia Wilde as the evil queen from Snow white and Alec Baldwin as the magic mirror

Anyways, back to the topic. I was absolutely enthralled by the celebrity Disney photographs taken by Annie Leibovitz. These photos captured the wondrous feel of the Disney characters.
Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella
This is my utmost favourite photo. Scarlett fits the role of Cinderella perfectly. This picture gives off fantasy-like and dreamy vibes. The background itself is spectacular. All the small details made a difference. I particularly like that there is a spotlight straight from the palace on the glass shoe she leaves behind. Her dress is simply magnificent! I love how it flows gracefully in her haste to retreat.
Rachel Weisz as Snow White
I have always admired Rachel for her porcelain and creamy complexion. Thus, I was delighted when I found out that she was portrayed as Snow White. Ideal indeed. The animals surrounding her all the more enhances the sweet character of Snow White. And look at those cute bunnies! Don't they make you go "aww"?
Jessica Biel as Pocahontas
I like how Jessica is posed as if she were running with the wind. This captures the essence of Pocahontas as she is a free-spirited woman. The leaves swirling around her also creates a sense of freedom. Too bad John Smith is not around...
Penelope Cruz as Belle and Jeff Bridges as the Prince in Beauty and the Beast
Penelope looks totally gorgeous in this picture. She undoubtedly makes a beautiful Belle. However, Jeff Bridges seems a tad too old to hold the role of the dashing prince to me. I expected the prince to be younger. I found the background of the picture a little weird too. Both Penelope and Jeff are clad in ballroom attire and yet, the background is so gloomy and dark. Shouldn't they be in a glamorous and beautifully lit ballroom (Think the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles)? Or perhaps it is a contrast technique used to boost the magical feel of the characters...
Olivia Wilde as the evil queen from Snow white and Alec Baldwin as the magic mirror

In my opinion, Olivia totally nailed the look of the wicked queen, right down to the sardonically lifted brow. Jadore her darkly majestic attire. She literally brings the evil queen to life! Alec Baldwin is convincing enough as the magic mirror. His expression conveys mystery, as if he knows something that you don't. There is an element of eerieness too in this picture.
It is fun too see Disney characters come to live by being portrayed by real people. Fantabulous, don't you think? :)

Thor
Exams... they drive people nuts sometimes. So yeah, it was my final exams and I was feeling extremely restless. Hey, it's not my fault. My exam subject was rather dry, boring in fact. It was about formal letter writing, memos, reports...you get the picture >.< With my concentration fading, I was eager to focus on something else and I found the perfect excuse-- THOR.
So with great delight, my cousin sister, sister and I headed down to Ipoh to watch this epic movie. I'm not a fan of Marvel comics but this movie enticed me because it concerns Thor, a Norse god. I'm fascinated with Greek and Norse mythologies. So naturally, my interest was piqued.
I'm so glad that we went to watch it because this movie is AWESOME! It combines action and comedy really well. It is seriously one of the best movies I have seen lately. Thor is the kind of movie that I wouldn't mind watching twice. Chris Hemsworth is so natural as Thor. And man, he is HOT! I was especially captivated by his striking blue eyes....and of course his super fabulous body *ahem*
Honestly, I have never heard about this dude until Thor. I knew more about his younger brother, Liam Hemsworth since he acted in The Last Song and he was Miley Cyrus's ex. But now, my attention is certainly focused on Chris. I'm so looking forward to The Avengers movie. Chris will be reprising his role as Thor! Can't wait...
