Maybeline Diamond Glow Eyeshadow Quad

I'm obsessed with warm and golden earth-toned eyeshadows. Brown, taupe, bronze, copper...I love them all! So when I saw the Maybeline Diamond Glow eyeshadow quad in Copper Brown, it beckoned to me immediately.  I swear, the quad was squealing "Buy me! Buy me!" at me! So I got it :)

Just look at those shimmering brown tones! They are really pretty, aren't they? I'm a sucker for glittery eyeshadows so that of course added to my reasons as to why I had to buy it. This quad is priced at RM23.90. Here are some swatches:

The pigmentation and texture of the eyeshadows are good. My favourite is the third color from the left. It is such a beautiful and rich coppery color. I think that this quad will make a fabulous daytime look.

The best thing about Maybeline is that its prices are affordable and its products are of good quality. For those who can't really afford high-end makeup all time (like me), it is a great alternative. In fact, Maybeline is my utmost favourite drugstore brand

Makeup Removers

I'm quite particular when it comes to makeup removers. I dislike vigorously scrubbing or rubbing my face when it comes to removing my makeup. Thus, I tend to buy removers which eliminates waterproof makeup. So far, two makeup removers stood out. They are my Maybeline Make Up Remover (Eye & Lip) and The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-up Remover.

Maybeline Make Up Remover (Eye & Lip)
As you can see in the picture, the Maybeline makeup remover consists of two layers. So you have to shake it well before using it. Here's what the description says:

This formula instantly removes all eye and lip make up, even waterproof and non-transfer. Formulated for sensitive eyes, it is especially very gentle for the delicate skin around eyes.

Yes, it does a remarkable job of removing waterproof makeup. I don't have to scrub very hard to get my makeup off. So that's a bonus point. However, whenever I use this makeup remover, my eyes get a very slight tingly feeling. Does that make my eyes super sensitive?

Other than this flaw, this Maybeline makeup remover is pretty much perfect. It is affordable as well. I only wished that they sold it in bigger bottles.

The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-up Remover
Moving on to The Body Shop Makeup Remover! I don't buy The Body Shop products as they are rather expensive. Whatever products that I have from this shop are usually gifts from others. This makeup remover is actually a sample that I got after buying the Body Butter as a birthday present for my friend. It's description:

All-in one lash and lid cleansing, conditioning and softening. ALL SKIN TYPES.

I must admit that I love this product! It is so gentle on the eyes. My eyes don't tingle at all! It effectively removes waterproof eye makeup AND it has a fragrant Camomile scent. Heavenly

So the winner here is definitely The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover!

Maybeline Unstoppable Smudge Proof Eyeliner

Eyeliner has become a must-have in my makeup bag. When I first began experimenting with makeup, I didn't think that eyeliner was necessary. It was just something secondary to me. But now that I have delved deeper into cosmetics, I don't think I can ever forsake my eyeliner.

Eyeliners are just wonderful. They can make your eyes appear bigger and more dramatic. Just dab some eyeliner on and your eyes are instantly transformed! As mentioned in my previous posts, I prefer dark brown eyeliners. I started with pencil liners. My first pencil liner was the relatively inexpensive Maybeline Unstoppable Smudge Proof Eyeliner in dark brown.

What I love about this eyeliner is that it does not smudge. It stays on all day and it ensures that I do not end up with panda eyes. This eyeliner also glides on smoothly. You don't have to apply a lot of pressure to get an opaque shade. Here's a swatch of the eyeliner:

Another thing that I like about this eyeliner is that you don't have to sharpen it. Sharpening pencil liners always make me wince because I feel that much of it has gone to waste with all the sharpening. But with this packaging, all you have to do is twist the upper part of the pencil liner to dispense more of it. Easy peasy.

The major flaw this product is that it has fallouts. Imagine my horror when I looked into the mirror and found that my face was sprinkled with dark brown spots. I tried to reduce the fallouts by smudging the eyeliner everytime I applied it on. Unfortunately, it did not work. The stubborn fallouts still made their grand appearance.

So in the end, I stopped using this eyeliner which is such a shame for I really liked it. I gradually moved on to gel liners and now, I am addicted to them :)

My Beauty Essentials

It started with just Maybeline's Clear Smooth Shine Free Face Power.

Nothing extravagant. Just simple pressed powder for my daily use. Then fashion magazines, beauty blogs and makeup gurus came along. And everything changed. I began to experiment with more varieties of makeup. I'm glad I did though because after experimenting, I'm now quite sure of what's good for me. So here are several makeup products which I absolutely ADORE:

Maybelline Angelfit Two-Way Cake Foundation

This is one product which I cannot live without. I simply love it and use it every single day! It provides good coverage and evens out my skin tone. If you inspect it closely, you can see teeny tiny flecks of shimmer in the powder. This is what gives your face a luminous glow after you apply it. Seeing the difference it makes on my face never fails to thrill me. Love it max!

Maybeline Angelfit Perfect Concealer

This is also a must have in my makeup bag. I use this product to cover my horrid occasional pimples and redness around the nose and mouth. The coverage it provides is good enough for me though I would say that it does not cover blemishes fully. Still, I have been using this concealer for years and it has never failed me in my desperate times.

L'OREAL True Match Foundation

I have only been using it recently but am already in love with it. This foundation is super blendable and gives me a smooth flawless finish. I don't typically use liquid foundations but this product really comes in handy when I have a break out (Damn you pimples!). It effectively covers all the redness on my face. Using this product eliminates my worries when my face has blemishes.

Maybeline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown

Brown eyeliner is a MUST for me. I don't think I can ever go without it. After experimenting with eyeliner, I found out that brown eyeliner suits me better. Black somehow made my eyes look weird. Way too harsh. This eyeliner is a warm rich brown that totally compliments my eyes, giving them that extra boost. Love love love ♥

Skin Food Salmon Dark Circle Concealer

This is another Holy Grail product of mine. I have rather severe dark circles and I have always been on a never-ending quest in search of the perfect dark circle concealer. And I found it! Mission accomplished. This product is AWESOME. It really, really covers my dark circles soooo well. It has a creamy texture which doesn't crease after a long period of time.

Lip Ice Fruity Lip Balm in Strawberry

This lip balm has been with me for like...forever. I started using it when I was in high school to keep my lips moisteurized. Chapped lips are such a pain in the ass. This product seriously protects my lips and keeps them from drying. Another good thing about this product is that it is affordable. It also lasts for quite a long time considering the fact that I apply it daily. This little baby will always accompany me wherever I go.

Makeup has become part of my life. No regrets though. Why refrain from enhancing one's natural looks? A little goes a long way after all :)
