Elie Saab Dresses

Elie Saab is one of my favourite fashion designers. He is a renowned Lebanese whose designs are favoured by many celebrities. When browsing through major events where celebrities flaunt their fantabulous attires, I tend to scrutinize those who are clad in Elie Saab. His dresses and gowns are typically flowy, romantic and just drop dead gorgeous! Here are some celebs who favour his creations:

Taylor Swift

Scarlett Johansson

Here's a close up picture of Scarlett's dress. The glittery details are really magnificient. They show how much effort has been put into producing the dress. When I first saw this dress, what came into my mind was "delicate" and "elegant". These elaborated details really make a huge difference in the design. They give the dress a special and glamorous touch.

I was captivated by the Elie Saab dress which Scarlett wore to the Oscars this year. It is simply stunning! I especially love the painstalkingly intricate lace flower patterns on her dress. The bareback design provides a sexy look. I also like the pinkish purple shade of this dress as it adds a nice tint of sweetness.

Mila Kunis
Another dress at the Oscars which caught my eye was the one worn by Mila Kunis. She was practically glowing in this dress. I love how it just flows. The sheer parts of the dress makes it sizzle. And yet, the pastel color screams sweet and dreamy.

That is what I like about Elie Saab's dresses. He is a genius who creates beautiful dresses which combine sexy and sweet elements. The colors he chooses for his creations are F-A-B! Here are some of the Elie Saab Couture 2010 Spring Collection dresses which I fell in love with:

Wonderful, aren't they?

Maybeline Unstoppable Smudge Proof Eyeliner

Eyeliner has become a must-have in my makeup bag. When I first began experimenting with makeup, I didn't think that eyeliner was necessary. It was just something secondary to me. But now that I have delved deeper into cosmetics, I don't think I can ever forsake my eyeliner.

Eyeliners are just wonderful. They can make your eyes appear bigger and more dramatic. Just dab some eyeliner on and your eyes are instantly transformed! As mentioned in my previous posts, I prefer dark brown eyeliners. I started with pencil liners. My first pencil liner was the relatively inexpensive Maybeline Unstoppable Smudge Proof Eyeliner in dark brown.

What I love about this eyeliner is that it does not smudge. It stays on all day and it ensures that I do not end up with panda eyes. This eyeliner also glides on smoothly. You don't have to apply a lot of pressure to get an opaque shade. Here's a swatch of the eyeliner:

Another thing that I like about this eyeliner is that you don't have to sharpen it. Sharpening pencil liners always make me wince because I feel that much of it has gone to waste with all the sharpening. But with this packaging, all you have to do is twist the upper part of the pencil liner to dispense more of it. Easy peasy.

The major flaw this product is that it has fallouts. Imagine my horror when I looked into the mirror and found that my face was sprinkled with dark brown spots. I tried to reduce the fallouts by smudging the eyeliner everytime I applied it on. Unfortunately, it did not work. The stubborn fallouts still made their grand appearance.

So in the end, I stopped using this eyeliner which is such a shame for I really liked it. I gradually moved on to gel liners and now, I am addicted to them :)

Thor

Exams... they drive people nuts sometimes. So yeah, it was my final exams and I was feeling extremely restless. Hey, it's not my fault. My exam subject was rather dry, boring in fact. It was about formal letter writing, memos, reports...you get the picture >.< With my concentration fading, I was eager to focus on something else and I found the perfect excuse-- THOR.

So with great delight, my cousin sister, sister and I headed down to Ipoh to watch this epic movie. I'm not a fan of Marvel comics but this movie enticed me because it concerns Thor, a Norse god. I'm fascinated with Greek and Norse mythologies. So naturally, my interest was piqued.

I'm so glad that we went to watch it because this movie is AWESOME! It combines action and comedy really well. It is seriously one of the best movies I have seen lately. Thor is the kind of movie that I wouldn't mind watching twice. Chris Hemsworth is so natural as Thor. And man, he is HOT! I was especially captivated by his striking blue eyes....and of course his super fabulous body *ahem*

Honestly, I have never heard about this dude until Thor. I knew more about his younger brother, Liam Hemsworth since he acted in The Last Song and he was Miley Cyrus's ex. But now, my attention is certainly focused on Chris. I'm so looking forward to The Avengers movie. Chris will be reprising his role as Thor! Can't wait...

Swensen's Earthquake Ice-Cream

Ice-cream. It makes kids happy; it makes adults happy; it makes me happy ^_^

I went to Gurney Plaza recently with my sister, mum and wacky aunts. Craving for a snack after lunch, we decided to stop by at Swensen's, a place known for its sinfully delectable ice-creams. This is my second time at Swensen's. The first time I went there, I ordered the out-of-the-world Cookie Summit which is a mountain of Cookies 'N' Cream ice-cream. Freaking tasty!

My aunt ordered a ginormous ice-cream dish known as The Earthquake. Here it is:

I must say that it is most appropriately named. I mean, it is HUGE! This earth-shaking indulgence has eight rich scoops of ice-cream and yummylicious toppings such as chocolate fudge, caramel, whipped cream and cherries. Some of the ice-cream flavours include Banana Split, Chocolate Peanut Buttercup, Sticky Chewy Chocolate and Ol' Fashioned Vanilla. Don't they all sound totally delicious? I was rather disappointed that Cookies 'N' Cream was unavailable :( That is my utmost favourite ice-cream flavour.

Anyways, we could not finish this giant Earthquake as we were simply too full to eat another bite. Such a waste...All in all, Swensen's ice-creams are definitely a treat for one's taste buds!
